Sharing a bond similar to that of The Kills, and influenced by many of the rock duo’s coming out of the lo-fi garage rock scene, Brockley Forest’s unique set up creates a dirty, sleazy depth of sound with an acoustic guitar fed through a tiny distorted amp and minimalist drum kit. We love it and think their sound is far better than Royal Blood!!!
Dec and Seb both grew up locally, studying at Backwell School and we are really excited to have them back with us again. They have set the festival on fire before and we have no doubt they will do it again!
Brockley Forest have built a solid reputation in Bristol’s underground rock scene and release their Castaway EP on May 11. They recently had a chat with Steve Lamacq of BBC 6 about their music and their latest video One Obsession is now available to stream online. The Castaway EP is the band’s first new release since The Die Has Been Cast in 2015. Since their previous release, the band have supported the likes of Idles, Fidlar and Honeyblood for sold out performances at Bristol’s Louisiana venue and the iconic Bristol Fleece. Other notable performances from BBC 6 Music Festival and Dot to Dot have helped establish Brockley Forest as an exciting up and coming duo from Bristol.
Friends since the age of 11, the duo cemented their kinship with a cross-country trip through America, spanning 10,000 miles and a temporary habitat in the Mojave desert. Upon returning to the UK, Brockley Forest was born.
