Spoken Word Artist, Rebecca Tantony is a powerful presence, writing intense and emotional poetry about belonging and identity. She offers a tapestry of intricate themes, bold writing and passionate intensity, creating a lyrical conversation straight to the heart. Her most recent collection explores family lineage, diaspora and the feminine.
Rebecca, who grew up in Backwell, has read in numerous venues, including the Royal Albert Hall, the Natural History Museum, the Arnolfini, St George’s, The South Bank Centre, Glastonbury, Womad, Boomtown and Shambala Music Festivals and Ledbury, Cheltenham, Bristol and Bath Literature Festivals. Her short stories, features, journalism and poetry have been published in various anthologies and magazines.
When not performing she teaches spoken word in multiple venues, including lecturing in Performance Poetry and Creative Writing at Bath Spa University, she is a writer in residency for First Story, at the Barbican Theatre and Royal Geographical Society.
